Bay Path Hangs with NECC Leader Lesley in Soccer Action
Despite the tough defensive stance the Wildcats held, the Lynx
were finally able to score in the 86th minute winning the hard
fought match 1-0.
Junior defender Cathryn Folkestad (Ipswich, Mass.) broke up the
scoreless battle for the Lynx at 85:13 on the clock after a well
placed cross by sophomore midfielder Alyson Durben (Stow, Mass.)
after a corner kick. The Lynx had five corner kicks to the Wildcats
zero.
Lesley had 36 shots, 23 of which were on goal, to Bay Path’s
one for the 90 minutes.
Junior keeper Samantha Gunseth (Swanzey, N.H.) gave up only one
goal while pulling off a career-high 21 saves on the 23 shots on
goal.
Lesley is now 14-1-1 overall and 6-0-0 in conference while Bay Path
falls to 1-9-2 on the season and 1-3-1 in the NECC.
