Gates, Siddle, Ferland Receive Weekly NECC Honors

Bay Path College junior Sarah Gates of Crown Point, IN, and sophomore Jacqui Siddle of Palmer, MA, were recently recognized for outstanding play by the New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) for their performances during the week of October 27, 2008. Freshman Caitlin Ferland of Vergennes, VT, also received honors this week as she was named to the 2008 All-NECC Cross Country Women’s Team.

Gates was named Rookie of the Week in field hockey, and tallied the Wildcats’ lone goal of the week in a tough 4-1 setback against Wheelock College. Siddle was selected as Player of the Week in women’s soccer, and she enjoyed a stellar week, scoring three goals and adding four assists in three matches. Siddle’s play sparked the Wildcats to a 2-1 weekly record, including victories over NECC rivals Newbury College and Mitchell College.

Newbury College hosted the inaugural 2008 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Cross Country Championship on October 26, and the Bay Path College Wildcats finished in seventh place with 128 points. Ferland, a former NECC Cross Country Rookie of the Week, was selected as a member of the 2008 All-NECC Cross Country Women’s Team, and placed seventh with a time of 22:33.
