Davi Chuong Named NECC Women's Volleyball Defensive Specialist of the Year

Bay Path's junior Libero Davi Chuong (Easthampton, Mass.) nabbed the inaugural 2009 NECC Women's Volleyball Defensive Specialist of the Year. Chuong, a business management major, led the NECC in digs at 113 (4.36 per set) and was 10th in service aces at 19 (0.73 per set). She played in 20 matches with 209 digs, 135 serve receptions and average 1.44 digs per set.

A year removed from earning a share of the New England Collegiate Conference regular season championship, the Daniel Webster College volleyball team kept the crown all for themselves, posting a 3-1 victory in their regular season finale over Bay Path College Saturday afternoon at the Mario Vagge Gymnasium.

ATTLEBORO, Mass.- Four out of the five New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) womens tennis programs were represented on the 2009 All-NECC Womens Tennis Team and NECC major awards, announced today by Commissioner Del Malloy. In addition to the all-conference team, three major individual award winners and the team sportsmanship award winner will be recognized at the first day of the 2009 NECC Championships.

The 2009 New England Collegiate Conference Womens Tennis Championship Tournament got under way today Saturday, October 17th at the Enfield Tennis Club in Enfield, Connecticut hosted by Bay Path. The championship is an individual flighted tournament that is based upon student-athletes singles and doubles conference records. Players are seeded as individual players and seeds are not based on a teams finish.
Wildcats Fall Short in NECC Volleyball Tri-Match

CAMBRIDGE, MA Lesley University hosted the Wildcats of Bay Path College and the Mariners of Mitchell College in a New England Collegiate Conference tri-match. Lesley University got its first conference wins of the year as they won the first match against Mitchell College 3-0 and defeated Bay Path College in the final match of the day 3-0. Mitchell would split on the day as they defeated Bay Path College 3-0 in the second match of the game. Following the tri-match Lesley University improves to 7-11 overall and 2-1 in the NECC, Mitchell College improves to 5-6 overall and 2-2 in the NECC and Bay Path College falls to 1-16 overall and 1-3 in the NECC.

Julia Bendzin Named NECC Women's Tennis Player of the Week

ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Bay Path senior Julia Bendzin (Poetsenkill, N.Y.) led the Wildcats to a 2-0 conference sweep defeating Mitchell 8-1 and Lesley 7-2. Bendzin finished undefeated for the week, going 2-0 at #1 singles and 2-0 at #1 doubles. With teammate Kara Fox they won 8-3 and 8-4, and she defeated the Mariners' Julie Felts 6-3, 6-2 and coming back to overtake Lynx' Courtney Mullen 1-6, 6-2 (6-3 tie-breaker).
