Lesley Falls to Conference Leader Bay Path 7-2

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Lesley University women's tennis team was defeated on Saturday afternoon by Bay Path College 7-2 and dropped their inaugural season record to 5-6 (2-5 NECC).  Bay Path improved to 8-2 (5-1 NECC) as the Wildcats continued to be top dog in the conference.

Courtney Mullen (SPRINGFIELD, Ore./Marist) and Emily Lapean (MONTAGUE, Mass./Turner Falls) won the #2 doubles match and Michelle Side (MILLER PLACE, N.Y./Rocky Point) continued her dominance in the #2 singles slot, but Bay Path showed their depth by winning every other match on the day.

Julia Bendzin (POESTENKILL, N.Y./Averill Park) and Kara Fox (BIDDEFORD, Maine/Biddeford) won the #1 doubles match 8-4 and fellow Wildcats Carolina Ynguanzo (SPRINGFIELD, Mass./High School of Science & Technology) and Lianna Loveitt (GORHAM, Maine/Gorham) edged out their opponents 8-6.

Bendzin, Fox, Ynguanzo and Loveitt each won their singles matches along with Sarah Costa (TIVERTON, R.I./Tiverton) who 6-3, 6-2 in the #3 singles match. 

Lesley finishes off the regular season on Thursday, October 15 against Newbury College starting at 3:30 pm.  The match will be at Pine Manor College.  Bay Path will also travel to play Newbury on October 12 starting at 12:00 pm.
