Bendzin, Dupuis and Sippel Earn NECC Weekly Honors

WOMEN'S TENNIS PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Bay Path senior Julia Bendzin (Poetsenkill, N.Y.) had a stellar week for the Wildcats highlighted by earning 2009 NECC Women's Tennis Player of the Year honors. Bendzin played two matches and made her way through the flighted championships this week. In their one finished match of the week, Bendzin won both #1singles and #1 doubles with partner Kara Fox in a 6-3 victory over NECC opponent Newbury. In the flighted Championships, Bendzin continued her undefeated streak taking the #1 singles title in a 6-1, 6-1 victory over Becker's Megan Nessen in the finals.

WOMEN'S SOCCER ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Bay Path College freshman forward Katelyn Dupuis (Chicopee, Mass.) helped the Wildcats to their first two conference wins on the week including a 2-0 shut-out over NECC rival Wheelock. In the win over Wheelock, Dupuis had the assist on the game winner and netted an insurance goal for the Wildcats. Bay Path defeated Southern Vermont 3-1 in the final match of the week.  

WOMEN'S XC ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Bay Path College freshman Melissa Sippel (Loudonville, N.Y.) led the Wildcats with a 78th place finish. Sippel made her way through the chute with a season be 25:22 time as the second NECC runner to cross the line.
