Bay Path beats longtime Myrtle Beach opponent Baptist Bible College 11-3 in spring break opener for both teams.

Myrtle Beach, S.C.

The Bay Path University topped Baptist Bible College in the NCAA Division III opener for both teams in sunny Myrtle Beach, S.C. on Monday.

The "Wildcats" knocked out 7 hits in the 11-3 win with Junior, Maria Carta, (Middletown, Conn.) picking up the 1st win of the season for her and the team.  Carta threw a complete game and kept the Crusdaders off balance for most of the game.  Solid defense led by first year players, Lauren Vallee (Bristols, Conn.) and Gillian Flynn, (Windsor, Conn.) was the key to this win.

Bay Path was led by junior, Anna Meyer (MIllbrook, N.Y.) who had two doubles, 2 sac flies and drove in 4 runs for the game.  The Wildcats took advantage of 8 walks and a hit batsman to score their 11 runs.

Bay Path will continue play at 11:30 am against Wesley College.
