Becker wins NECC contest over Bay Path

 

BALANCED  ATTACK LIFTS BECKER PAST BAY PATH

 

LEICESTER, Mass. –Becker College defeated Bay Path College 64-49 in New England Collegiate Conference women's basketball action Tuesday evening at the Leicester Gymnasium. The win propels the Hawks record to 6-12 (6-6 NECC), while the Wildcats fall to 6-13 (5-7 NECC.)

 

Becker was paced by senior Tatiana Mojica (Worcester, Mass.) who led all scorers with a game high 18 points. Classmate Haly Ooms (Valatie, N.Y.) came just short of a triple-double after tallying 17 points, nine rebounds, and a game best eight assists. Elizabeth McNiff (Leominster, Mass.) contributed 13 points; while Gabrielle Gallo (Northport, N.Y.) gathered a team high 11 rebounds. 

 

Kayla Skiffington (East Longmeadow, Mass.) paced the Wildcats with 14 points and a game high 12 rebounds. Brenna Roy (Stafford Springs, Conn.) and Gladys Reed (Hamden, Conn.) chipped in with nine points each.

 

Both teams get back to action on Saturday, February 1, when Becker travels to Mitchell College at 3:00 p.m., while Bay Path returns home to host Lesley University at 1:00 p.m.
