Wildcats Claw Past Lynx

HOLYOKE, Mass.- Bay Path University pulls off their first New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) victory tonight with two Wildcats netting double doubles. Junior forward Dallas Jackson (Springfield, Mass.) scored the game high 24 points while adding 12 rebounds and seven steals and senior center Elizabeth Haylette (Terryville, Conn) tallied 14 points and ten rebounds. Bay Path improves to 4-12 on the season and 1-8 in the NECC, while Lesley is now 1-14 overall and 0-9 in conference play.

The Lynx of Lesley jumped out with the early lead following sophomore guard Theresa Pereira's (Hopedale, Mass.) fast pace offense. Pereira topped her team with 14 points, nine rebounds and four assists.

Junior guard Aaliyah Gordon (Springfield, Mass.) sparked the early come-back at 6:23 in the second quarter scoring a jumper to finally put the Wildcats ahead 21-22. Gordon then made another lay-up and the Wildcats didn't look back. She finished with ten points and five rebounds.

Junior guard Brenna Roy (Stafford Springs, Conn.) also finished with 10 points hitting three from downtown. Roy tallied seven rebounds as well. Freshman forward Sam Drapinski (Malden, Mass.) rounded out the starting five with six points and seven boards.

Lesley also had two other players score in the double figures sophomore Courtney Coggin (Chesire, Conn.) notched a double double adding 10 points and game high 15 rebounds while junior guard Hannah Levensailor (Ayer, Mass.) had 12 points.

Head Coach Steve Smith managed to use his bench playing all nine for the game. Freshman forward Haleigh Bassett (Millers Falls, Mass.) and sophomore guard Bethany Rogers (Plymouth, Mass.) combined for nine points and 8 rebounds.
