Eagles Soar Past Wildcats 74-42 in NECC Action

HOLYOKE, Mass.- The Eagles of Daniel Webster College dominated the host Wildcats of Bay Path University 74-42 in New England Collegiate Conference Action today at the Bartley Center in women's basketball action. Junior forward Dallas Jackson (Springfield, Mass.) led the way for Bay Path with eleven points and game high 13 rebounds. The Eagles were led by junior forward Jillian Gillman (Weare, N.H.) with 20 points, eight rebounds and five blocks.

Unfortunately for the Wildcats, the Eagles bench seemed to spark the Daniel Webster offense with 19 points coming from their reservists. Senior guard Ashley England (Old Towne, Maine) chipped in 16 points, four assists and four steals. Whereas the Wildcats struggled during the first 20 minutes of play;  they headed into the locker room with a 32-15 deficit.  Junior guard Kayla Free (Quincy, Mass) also amassed double figures finishing with 12 points.

Junior guard Brenna Roy (Stafford Springs, Conn.) had ten points, five steals and five boards. Jackson chipped in six steals for the contest.

Daniel Webster had a great offense game shooting 44.6% from the field, 45.0% from downtown and 87.5% from the charity stripe. Bay Path struggled on their shooting notching only 27.4% from the field, 18.2% from the three point line and 42.9% from the line.

Daniel Webster advances to 8-13 overall and 6-8 in conference play, Bay Path is now 4-17 on the season and 1-13 in the NECC.
