NECC Women's Soccer Championships Pairing released

#5 seed Bay Path University will take on #4 seed Becker College in NECC 1st Round soccer action on Saturday, Ocotber 28, 2017 at 2 pm on the Becker Campus in Leicester, Mass.

Lesley University is Top Seed in the NECC Championship

ATTLEBORO, Mass. – Lesley University finishes the season undefeated at 8-0 in NECC regular season play, to earn the top spot in the NECCWomen's Soccer Championship.

The Lynx defense, led by senior goalkeeper Lilly Donovan, has only allowed two goals in eight NECC games this season, while their offense, led by senior Karlie Rubin, has netted a league leading 38 goals in conference play. The Lynx have earned a first round bye, and will host the winner of the first round game between Bay Path University and Becker College on Wednesday, November 1 at 8:00 pm.

Reigning champion Elms College earns the No. 2 seed by virtue of a tiebreaker with Southern Vermont College. Finishing the season 6-1-1, Elms is led by last season's NECC Player of the Year, Brie Voight. Elms will sit out the first round, and will host the winner of the first round game between Newbury College and Southern Vermont on Wednesday, November 1 at 4:00 pm.

Also finishing the regular season 6-1-1, Southern Vermont College nabs the No. 3 seed. The Mountaineers are led by senior goalkeeper Melissa Mascari, who is second in the league in save percentage, goals-against, and goals-against average. Southern Vermont will host the No. 6 seed Newbury College in first round action on Saturday, October 28 at 1:00 pm.

The No. 4 seed goes to Becker College, who finishes regular season play at 5-3. Becker will face off against No. 5 Bay Path in a first round match-up featuring the two leading goal scorers in the conference, Lindsey Keith of Becker, and Jailinne Ruiz from Bay Path.

 

First Round – Saturday, October 28th

Game 1: No. 5 Bay Path University at No. 4 Becker College 2:00 p.m.

Game 2: No. 6 Newbury College at No. 3 Southern Vermont College 1:00 p.m.

 

Semifinals – Wednesday, November 1st

Game 3: Game 1 winner at No. 1 Lesley University– 8:00 pm

Game 4: Game 2 winner at No. 2 Elms College – 4:00 pm

 

Championship – Saturday, November 4th

Game 5: Game 3 winner vs. Game 4 winner – TBA
