Wildcats Shut Out Beavers 6-0 in Women’s Soccer Action

LONGMEADOW, MASS. - Freshman midfielder Heaven Rodriguez (New Britain, Conn.) led the way for the Wildcats in their 6-0 shut-out of the Beavers of the City College of New York. Rodriguez scored the first goal at 29:55 on a drive up from midfield; this goal would prove to be the eventual game-winner. Bay Path improves to 3-1 on the season, while City College of New York falls to 2-3 on the year.

 Rodriguez went on to net another in the 43rd minute along with adding assists for the Wildcats. Junior defender Brianna D'Astous (Chesterfield, Mass.) notched the second goal of the game at 35:17 with a cross by Rodriguez. Junior defender Cassidy Nuccio (Tolland, Conn.) tallied the final goal of the first half off a well placed cross by sophomore forward Meghan Connery (Enfield, Conn.)

Senior forward Joanna Feliciano (Springfield, Mass.) netted the fifth goal and first of the half in the 54th minute. Coming off the bench, senior midfielder Kayla Mello (Swansea, Mass.) sailed the sixth and final goal high into the pocket off of two quick crosses by Connery and junior forward Jenna St. Jean (Moosup, Mass.).

The Wildcats'  starting senior keeper Caitlyn Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) shared a piece of the shut-out with one save, freshman keeper Emma Martin (Palmer, Mass.) came off the bench in the second half playing 26 minutes recording two saves. They both faced seven shots, two on goal for the win.

The Beavers' junior goalie Catherine Langkamp (Bronx, N.Y.) suffered the loss with two saves facing 26 shots, eight on goal.
