Wildcats Prevail in Stunning Double Overtime Victory

LONGMEADOW, MASS. – Senior forward Joanna Feliciano (Springfield, Mass.) propelled the Wildcats scoring both the first and the game winning shot in a 2-1 double overtime victory against the Trailblazers of MCLA today at Ryan field in NCAA Division III women's soccer action. Bay Path advances to a 4-1 overall record while MCLA falls to 1-5 on the season.

Feliciano struck first finding the back of the net off a cross from sophomore midfielder Alexandra Silva (Ludlow, Mass.) at 9:53 on the clock. 

MCLA answered the call two minutes later when freshman forward Alyssa Porter (Boylston, Mass.) knotted the game 1-1 off a pass by senior midfielder Hannah Van de Water (Cambridge, N.Y.).

Both teams battled for the next 90 minutes heading into double overtime when Feliciano found the back of the net off a well-placed cross by freshman midfielder Heaven Rodriguez (New Britain, Conn.) at 101:56 on the clock.

The Wildcats' senior keeper Caitlyn Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) both faced ten shots, five on goal for the win.  Esposito had four saves.

The Trailblazers' senior goalkeeper Megan Richardson (Adams, Mass.) suffered the loss facing 20 shots, eight on goal with six saves.

Bay Path will be back in action travelling to Mass. Maritime on Monday, September 23rd for a 7:00 start, while MCLA head to Bridgewater State on Saturday, September 21st to play at 11:00 a.m.
