Bay Path beats NECC Foe Mitchell College 3-1 in soccer action.

LONGMEADOW, Mass. – It was Senior Day as Bay Path University finally opened a closely played 20 mintues by scoring a pair of goals within a five minute span in the 1st half.  Second year player Alexandra Silva (Ludlow, Mass.) scored at 24:05 and Carina Facchini (Chicopee, Mass.) tallied another just 5 minutes later to give the Wildcats a 2-0 lead.   Joanna Feliciano (Springfield, Mass.) finished the scoring off an assist from Jennifer Wilson (Tolland, Conn.)

Mitchell College put pressure on the Wildcats in the 2nd half and Lindsay Fairbank (Newington, Conn.) scored at the 76th minute off an assist from Madison Nicynki (Warwick, R.I.) but they could not catch them on the end.

Senior starting goalkeeper Caitlyn Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) earned the win with four saves.

Mariniers first year goalie Yordi Slover (Westhampton, NY)  made 11 saves in the game.

Bay Path improves to 8-5-0 on the season and 2-2 in the NECC, while Mitchell College falls to 4-8 overall and 0-2 in the NECC. The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday, October 19th playing at NECC opponent Becker College at 12 noon while Mitchell College is at Elms College for a 5 pm game.
