Brumaghim Once Again Tops Wildcats at Smith Invitational

NORTHAMPTON, Mass.- The Wildcat harriers finished 13th out of 14 colleges at the 2012 Smith College Cross Country Invitational on Saturday, September 8th. Bay Path scored a 393 with seven runners competing in the 5K. Wellesley topped all teams with a score of 53 with six of their top runners placing in the top 20. Freshman Lian Brumaghim (Newtown, Conn.) once again lead the way for the Wildcats finishing 115th overall with a time of 26:25.97. 152 runners competed in the race.

 Clearing the chute first for the day was host Smith junior Kylee Drugan-Eppich with a time of 19:59.41. One other runner finished under the 20 minute mark also hailing from Smith freshman Danielle Opatovsky with a second place time of 19:59.81.

Coming in second for the Wildcats was sophomore Jessica Fields (Enfield, Conn.) with a time of 28:23.72 (125th place). The third Wildcat to clear the cute was freshman Morgan Packer-McCarthy (Windsor Locks, Conn.) at 29:47.44 (132nd place).

Senior Danielle Brown (Nashua, N.H.) and junior Katrina Trajkovski (Wilbraham, Mass.)  rounded out the top five.  Brown was 138th with a 31:16.27th, while Trajkovski was right behind at 139th with a final time of 31:23.31.

Bay Path will take a week off and compete at NECC rival Elms College on Saturday, September 22nd at an 11:00 am shotgun start.
