Bay Path College Sweeps Wheelock College in final regular season action

LONGMEADOW, Mass.-  Bay Path was led by junior outfielder  Katie Begin (Weare, N.H.) who went 6-7 with 6 runs scored helping the Wildcats sweep the "Wildcats" of Wheelock College. In the opener Bay Path took the game 9-5 and used a 6 inning mercy win 16-8 in the nightcap. The two wins enabled Bay Path to set a single-season record for wins (20).

Senior Jessica Nizinski (West Springfield, Mass.) got both wins in the doubleheader to finish the season at 14 -12, the most wins in a season by a Bay Path pitcher.

Hurler Nicole Zina (Bristol, R.I.) went 5-7 with 7 rbi's on the day to pace Wheelock College and sophomore outfielder Sarah Negron (Whitinsville, Ma) chipped in with 4 hits and 4 runs.  

Maeghan Whitcomb (Lyndon, Vt.) went 5-9 in the doubleheader and drove in 7 runs to finish theregular season with a record 60 rbi's.

Bay Path finishes the regular season at 20-18 and 9-7 in the NECC while Wheelock College ends the season 1-25 overall and 1-13 in the NECC. The Wildcats will host a 4 pm NECC 1/4 Final game on Tuesday, May 4 vs. Daniel Webster College.
