Wildcats’ pitcher Keelin Dougherty (Northfield, N.H.) was terrific in the circle scattering just five hits through six innings with five strikeouts and just one unearned run. Dougherty concludes her season with a 9-15 overall record.

Longmeadow, MA – Bay Path College defeated Becker College in NECC action. The "Wildcats" won the opener 6-5 and the nightcap 4-2. Keelin Dougherty (Northfield, NH) pitched two complete games going 14 innings striking out 7. She also chipped in going 4 for 7, scored 3 runs and had 3 stolen bases. Mercedes Griffith (Malden, MA) chipped in with 3 hits including her 2nd home run of the year.

CHESTNUT HILL, MA – Sophomore Keelin Dougherty (Northfield, NH) allowed just one run on six hits to earn a pair of victories and freshman center fielder Katherine Chabot (Brookfield, MA) knocked in five runs, including three on a home run to lead the Bay Path College softball team to a double header sweep over host Wheelock College, 14-0, 10-1, this afternoon in a New England Collegiate Conference twinbill at the Pine Manor College softball field in Chestnut Hill, MA.

Longmeadow, MA – Bay Path College defeated Southern Vermont College in NECC action. The doubleheader sweep came at scores of 4-3 and 7-1 this afternoon. Keelin Dougherty (Northfield, NH) pitched 14 innings striking out 12 and allowing 4 runs. She also chipped in going 4 for 5, scored 5 runs and had 7 stolen bases. Hayley McDonald (Latham, NY) went the distance in both games for SVC allowing 12 runs while striking out 12.

LONGMEADOW, Mass.-- Once again junior shortstop Emily Serrano (North Adams, Mass.) led the way for Bay Path batting .714 on the day going 5-for-7 with four runs and one double. Two other Wildcats produced multiple hits in both games. Senior outfielder Vanessa Chaplin (Attleboro, Mass.) went 4-for-7 (.571) with three runs and three RBI and one triple and freshman outfielder Katherine Chabot (Brookfield, Mass.) finished 4-for-8 (.500) with two runs, one double and one triple. Bay Path took game one 15-10 and a come from behind 6-5 win over regional opponent Massachusette College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) in today's softball double header.

Bay Path College would like to announce the start practices for the spring softball season on February 6, 2012. The “Wildcats “ will begin action on February 22 in a doubleheader vs. Lyndon State College, VT at the Adirondack Sports Complex. The team then departs for its annual spring break trip to Myrtle Beach, SC from March 10-17.

STARKVILLE, Miss.- Head Coach Steve Smith and the 2011 Bay Path Softball Team were honored by the NFCA ranked 17th out of 111 institutions nationally for NFCA Academic All- American with a team GPA of 3.431. The top institution was Northwestern (3.694). Ten Wildcats were also named NFCA All-American Scholar Athletes.
