Bay Path Prevails in Battle of the Cats 7-0 Over Wheelock

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- Freshman forward Alma Rizvani (Prospect, Conn.) scored two goals and had an assist all in the 2nd half as Bay Path College won the "Battle of the Cats" 7-0 in NECC action.  Rizvani also got the win in goal as she stopped 2 shots during her 1st half action over the Wildcats of Wheelock. 

Senior forward Keelin Dougherty (Northfield, N.H.) started the scoring at 37.29 of the 1st half with a goal and added a 2nd later in the game. Also chipping in with goals were freshman, Brianna Kujawski (Webster, Mass.), Yardley Mellon (Springfield, Mass.) and junior Marina Rhodes (Providence, R.I.) and Emily Serrano (Savoy, Mass.) had 2 assists for Bay Path. 

Freshman goalkeeper Shianne Silvia (Warwick, R.I.) faced twelve shots, saving ten of them.

Wheelock freshman keeper Erin Rice (Windsor, V.T.) suffered the loss. Rice had nine saves facing 32 shots.

Wheelock is now 0-9 overall and 0-3 in the NECC. Bay Path is 4-5-1 on the season and 2-1-1 in conference play. Wheelock travels to NECC opponent Southern Vermont College Monday, October 7th at 4:00 p.m., while Bay Path hosts Pine Manor College on Monday, October 7th for a 4:00 p.m. match.
