Wildcats Shut Out Mariners 5-0 on Senior Day

Rizvani, Roy, Jackson, Lynch, Barry and Kujawski Honored During Final Regular Season Home Match

LONGMEADOW, MASS. - Sophomore forward Jailinne Ruiz (Hadley, Mass.) came off the bench to spark the Wildcats offense netting the first goal in the 49th minute of play which would eventually become the game winner for Bay Path. The Wildcats would go on to score four more insurance goals defeating the Mariners of Mitchell College 5-0 in New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women's soccer action today at Ryan field on Senior Day.

The Wildcats honored their six graduating seniors midfielder/goalkeeper Alma Rizvani (Prospect, Conn.), forward Brenna Roy (Stafford Springs, Conn.), forward/defender Dallas Jackson (Springfield, Mass.), midfielder Kristen Lynch (Belchertown, Mass.), defender Jillian Barry (Jewett City, Conn.) and defender Briana Kujawski (Webster, Mass.) post-match celebrating their shut-out.

Ruiz tallied the second goal at 40:32 off a well placed cross from senior Rizvani. Junior forward Elena Helming (Maplewood, N.J.) notched the third goal of the half after pulling out the Mariners keeper to go IVI for the goal at 43:27.

Freshman defender Joanna Feliciano (Springfield, Mass.) headed the fourth goal coming out of the half. Rizvani had the assist. The Wildcats concluded the scoring in the 76th minute with senior Roy finding the back of the net after a defected shot by Rizvani.

The Mariners' freshman goalie Jordan Lohneiss (West Hartford, Conn.) suffered the loss facing 37 shots, 13 of which were on goal. Lohneiss finished with eight saves.

The Wildcats' freshman keeper Caitlyn Esposito (East Haven, Conn.) recorded the shut-out facing three shots.

The Wildcats are now 8-6 on the year and 4-4 in NECC play; Mitchell is now 1-13 and 1-7 in conference play. Bay Path will travel to Southern Vermont for their final regular season match against Southern Vermont on Wednesday, October 26th for a 3:00 p.m. match, while Mitchell will host Wheelock on the same day at the same time.
