WILDCATS FALLS 3-0 TO EAGLES IN FINAL REGULAR SEASON MATCH

HOLYOKE, Mass.- Bay Path fell 3-0 to Daniel Webster in their final regular season match today. The Eagles took three straight sets 25-12, 25-11 and 25-21.

Both teams will earn berths in the 2010 NECC Women's Volleyball tournament, the Eagles stay undefeated at 7-0 in the NECC clinching the right to host as the #1 seed. Bay Path will grab the sixth and final spot after tying with Mitchell at 2-5. The Wildcats hold the card over the Mariners in the tie-breaker procedure having defeated them earlier in the season.

Today was also senior day for the Wildcats honoring its two four year members prior to the match. Outside hitter Davi Chuong (Easthampton, Mass.) and defensive specialist Karie Ascensio (Mahopac, N.Y.).

Sophomore middle blocker Chelsey Crawford (Westfield, Mass.) led all players nailing an impressive .619 hitting percentage with the game high 16 kills. Fellow sophomore outside hitter Samantha Hill (Hudson, N.H.) was not far behind with eleven kills and a .500 attack percentage. Hill also contributed six digs and two service aces.

Sophomore middle blocker Jennifer Finneran (Barnstead, N.H.) and junior right side Emily Travis (Somerset, Mass.) each contributed six kills and three blocks a piece.  Junior setter Caitlyn DePierro (Billerica, Mass.) finished with 27 assists, four digs and two aces.

Junior middle hitter Nadine Harkless (Westfield, Mass.) led for the Wildcats with eight kills hitting .304 for the match. Harkless also added three aces, three digs and two block assists. Chuong had seven digs and three kills. Sophomore setter Ashley Provost (Ludlow, Mass.) contributed 11 assists, eight digs and four service aces.

Bay Path is now 7-13 on the season while Daniel Webster improves to 17-6 overall.
