BAY PATH 3 BROOKLYN 2

Brooklyn College and Bay Path College intertwined for an endurance match in the fifth game of the quad-match at Green Mountain College Saturday afternoon.  With all players giving it their every last effort, it was Bay Path who would emerge with the five set victory 3-2 winning 25-21,15-25, 25-22, 19-25 and 15-6.

Hitting errors were commonplace for both teams as both had already played once in the afternoon and fatigue obviously played a factor.  Brooklyn actually killed the ball at a higher clip edging Bay Path in that department .050 to .014.

Kate Bartels led the Wildcats' offense in the match with eight kills while Katelynn Hannan was next in line with six kills.  Libero Kacie Bayreuther led the defensive effort with a match-high 23 digs.  Ashley Provost led the team in assists with 26.

Yelizaveta Malysheva provided much of the power hitting for Brooklyn with a match-high 14 kills.  Setter Kathy Chi led both teams in assists with 39, while the Bull Dogs had four players reach double digits in digs.  Sasha Roopchand led the way in the dig department with 18 for the Bull Dogs.

Bay Path readies itself right away for the final match of the tournament against host GMC while the Bull Dogs head back to Brooklyn to rest after a busy weekend.

GREEN MTN 3 BAY PATH 2

In the finale of a weekend long quad-match, those who stuck around long enough witnessed another classic five-set battle as Bay Path College and Green Mountain College were locked up in a tight affair.  The more rested Eagles prevailed in the end winning 3-2 to end the weekend on a high note.

Both teams were very evenly matched throughout the contest.  GMC (3-9) held a slight attack advantage edging out the visitors .077 to .057.  The Eagles also just nosed out the Wildcats in the assist percentage department by only .043 percent.  Bay Path (6-5) held an upper hand in the serving game by .005 percent and service reception by a mere .028 percent.

Kara Egan saved her best attack game for the finale leading all hitters with 23 kills, while teammate Megan Roy posted 10 kills.  Setter Jennifer Seredejko can be credited with the success of all the eagles hitters as she adroitly set them up with a match-high 37 assists.  Four Eagles posted double-digit digs with Egan leading the way with 18.

Amber Cohens and Elizabeth Haylette completed a fine weekend by leading the Wildcats again on the offensive side of the ball.  Both middle players were credited with six kills along with outside hitter Stephanie Synott who also had six kills. Kacie Bayreuther was the defensive backbone of the Wildcats, leading all players with 23 digs in the contest.  Arriadne Sykes provided expert defense around the net with her two solo blocks and an assisted block.
