HAWKS FLY PAST WILDCATS 3-0

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- The Wildcats of Bay Path fell 3-0 to New England Collegiate Conference rivals the Becker College Hawks in field hockey action today at Ryan Field under extremely windy conditions.

Junior midfielder Victoria Sirchia (Goshen, Conn.) struck first for the Hawks in the 17th minute of play. Sirchia would net the ball off an assist by freshman midfielder Deveney Forest (Fitchburg, Mass.). This goal would eventually prove to be the game winner.

Freshman forward Mitchell Griczika (Barre, Mass.) scored Becker' second goal in the 25th minute of play. This finished the scoring for the half.

Sirchia would net the final goal in the 61st minute of play.

Senior goalkeeper Nakita Gosselin (Springfield, Vt.) would record the shut-out with one save. Senior Bay Path keeper Kim Barbato suffered the loss with nine saves.  Junior defender Maeghan Whitcomb (St. Johnsbury, Vt.) recorded one defensive save.

Bay Path is now 2-7 overall and 1-4 in conference play, while Becker is 5-10 on the season and 3-2 in the NECC.
