Bay Path defeated Castleton 3-1 in the tri-math opener today in NCAA regional women's volleyball action. Game scores were 25-13, 25-16, 25-27 and 25-18. Junior middle hittter Lauren Vallee (Bristol, Conn.) lead all hitters with 14 kills, seven digs, two block assists and one service ace. Senior opposite hitter Paige Marshall (New Britain, Conn.) was not far behind with nine kills, nine digs, three service aces and two block assists.
Castleton was led by senior outside hitter Cassidy Tedeschi (Pascoag, R.I.) with nine kills and eight digs. Freshman Libero Lauren Wilson (Hampden, Mass.) topped all players with ten digs.

Castleton came back strong in the second match of the day defeating Johnson State in three straight sets 25-16, 25-7 and 25-10. Freshman outside hitter Olivia Perkins (Lancaster, Mass.) led the Spartans with a .357 attack percenatge tallying six kills, while junior outside hitter Kimberly Jackson (South Windsor, Conn.) added five kills, six digs and six aces. The Badgers were topped by senior outside hitter Breanna Laughlin (San Jacinto, Calif.) with five kills and the match high eight digs. Castleton finishes 4-5 on the season.

The Wildcats came on strong in the final match taking the Badgers in three straight sets 25-18, 25-9 and 25-11. Vallee finished with nine kills and 11 aces. Senior right side hitter Jennifer Pham (Springfield, Mass.) added six kills, sophomore middle hitter Taylor Heinbokel (Agawam, Mass.) had five kills and junior opposite Ashlee Connors (Springfield Mass.) had four kills and seven digs. Once again Laughlin led the way for Johnson State with ten kills and five digs.
Bay Path is now 4-6 overall, while Johnson State is 1-10.
