Wildcats Shut Down Blazers 3-0 on Senior Night

Pham, Gordon and Marshall honored during "Dig Pink" Senior Night


EAST LONGMEADOW, Mass.- The Wildcats led by junior middle hitter Lauren Vallee (Bristol, Conn.) who garnered her season high .737 attack percentage topping all players with 15 kills. Bay Path defeated local New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) rivals Elms College 25-14, 25-20 and 25-16. Tonight the three seniors were also honored during their final regular season home contest which was also their "Dig Pink" night honoring Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Senior right side Paige Marshall (New Britain, Conn.) had a stellar night with eight kills for a sizzling .429 hitting percentage. Fellow seniors' right side Jennifer Pham (Springfield, Mass.) and right side hitter Aaliyah Gordon (Springfield, Mass.) combined for three kills while Gordon had nine digs and Pham finished with two aces.

The Blazers sophomore outside hitter Danielle Redding (Las Vegas, Nevada) led her team with 10 kills, five service aces and four digs. Freshman outside hitter Hannah Adams (Deerfield, Mass.) added six kills, four digs and three service aces.

Sophomore setter Lexi Cears (Agawam, Mass.) had 23 assists and was successful with dumps on the evening finishing with a .667 attack percentage. Junior outside hitter Ashlee Connors (Springfield, Mass.) also gave a stellar performance against her previous school with an.800 attack percentage while adding seven digs.

In the final game the Wildcats put up a .609 attack percentage as a team with Connors notching the final point.

The Wildcats first year coach Pat Annecchiarico was able to utilize his entire roster tonight with the victory.

Gordon thus far for her four year career sharing time as setter and outside hitter has 137 kills, 828 assists, 58 service aces, 377 digs, 16 blocks and 204 points. Pham has 195 kills, 90 service aces, 297 digs, 16 blocks and 293 points for her four years. Marshall is at  105 kills, 12 aces, 123 digs, six blocks and 121 points for her two years as a Wildcat.

The Wildcats advance to 9-8 overall and 4-2 in conference play, Elms falls to 5-17 on the season and 2-3 in the NECC. Bay Path will travel to Newbury on Saturday, October 22nd for an 11:00 a.m. match, while Elms hosts Regis on the same day at 1:00 p.m.
