Bay Path Sweeps Fisher, 3-0

 
LONGMEADOW, MA -

The Bay Path University volleyball team won its sixth straight match on
Wednesday night as the Wildcats defeated Fisher College, 3-0. The victory improves Bay Path
to 9-7 on the year.

Bay Path took the match 25-22, 25-18, 25-22 as the Wildcats outhit their opponent, .206 to .087.
Bay Path led 17-10 in the opening set, but Fisher fought its way back to pull within one at 23-22.
A kill by Anastasiya Tsetsko, followed by a bad Fisher set, clinched the opening set for Bay
Path.

The Fisher Falcons opened the second set on an 8-3 run, but Bay Path was the team to make
the comeback this time, tying the set up at 14-14 midway through. From there, Bay Path scored
the next five points and 10 of the next 12, to take a commanding 24-16 lead. The Wildcats
clinched the set on a Fisher hitting error.

Fisher again got off to a quick start in the third, taking a 6-2 lead, but Bay Path scored the next
seven points to take the 9-6 lead. The Falcons then led again at 16-11 and 18-14, but four quick
Bay Path points tied the set back up. The run included a pair of blocks from Tsetsko and
Mckenzie Labier.

Bay Path again trailed 21-20, but scored five of the final six points to clinch the set and the
match, with the final two kills coming from Tsetsko.

Offensively, the Horsham, PA native finished with a match-high 19 kills on 32 swings, hitting
.500 for the contest. Lilly Kibbe added seven kills and Labier had four. Michelle Santiago
finished the night with 22 assists, while KyLee Finch added 12.

Defensively, Santiago had eight digs, while Kibbe and Shanayah St Phard each finished with
seven. The Wildcats had 10 total blocks, led by six from Tsetsko.

Bay Path will hit the road on Friday night at Mount Holyoke. The Wildcats will next return home
on Sunday, October 29.
