Wildcats Finish Season at USCAA Championships with 3rd Place Finish

Lemont Furnace, PA -

The final day of the 2023 USCAA D1 Volleyball Championships wrapped up with the Bay Path University volleyball team playing Carlow University in the 3rd Place Match.  The two teams met only 48 hour before with Carlow University defeating Bay Path 3-0 in Pool Play by close scores of; 23-25, 23-25 and 32-30.

This time around it would be different as the "Widcats" surged back in the 3rd Place match after being down 2-1 to defeat Carlow University 3-2 by scores of 25-20, 20-25, 20-25, 25-23 and 18-16. Bay Path University finished its season at 13-13

Bay Path won 25-20 in the opening set, but Carlow fought its way back to win the next 2 sets each by a score of 25-20.

The Wildcats opened the fourth set on an 18-13, but Carlow was the team to make
the comeback this time, running off five straight points to get to 18-19 but the Wilcast responded with four straight points to make it 23-18. The Wildcats
clinched the set on a Lilly Kibbe kill to win 25-23.

The fifth set was back and forth between the teams after Bay Path jumped out to a 6-2 lead.  Carlow was able to battle back to tie the score at 11-11, Carlow had a 16-15 lead but Bay Path won the match with a combined block from Asja Kazic and Lorin Danaher to seals the victory 18-16.

Offensively, Anastasiya Tsetsko of Horsham, PA finished with a match-high 27 kills on 58 swings, hitting
.345 for the contest. Lilly Kibbe added ten kills and Asja Kazic had eight. Michelle Santiago
finished the night with 25 assists, while KyLee Finch added 18.

Defensively, Kibbe had twenty-two digs in the match and Shanayah St Phard each finished with
thirteen. The Wildcats had 3 total blocks, led by two from Labier.

Tsetsko was selected to the USCAA D1 All-Tournament Team.
