Bay Path University hosted Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts (MCLA) on Thursday and was swept in a doubleheader 18-1 & 12-7.
Game 1 Highlights 18-1 (2-7)
Bay Path got behind early on the scoreboard in the 1st inning by allowing 8 runs.
In the 4th inning, Bay Path 's lone run was scored by Emma Scheeren (Schaghticoke, NY ) on a ball hit by Madisyn Vera (East Hartford, Conn.)
Daisy Guzman (Maricopa, AZ) (L, 1-4) started and tossed a complete game for Bay Path
Game 2 Highlights 12-7 (2-8)
The nightcap of the doubleheader was a close game with Bay Path down 9-6 going into the 5th inning before the Trailblazers scored 3 more runs to lengthen the lead. Bay Path was unable to put a rally together and eventually lost 12-7.
The "Wildcats" had 10 hits in the game led by Emma Scheeren with 4, Daisy Guzman and Alexandra Henderson (Haddam, Conn.) each chipped in a pair of hits.
Emma Scheeren (L, 1-4) took the loss in pitching the 2nd game of the doubleheader.
