Bay Path drops a pair to MCLA

Bay Path University hosted Massachusetts Colllege of Liberal Arts (MCLA) on Thursday, March 31, 2022 for a pair of games at at South Campus.  The "Wildcats" were swept in the double header 18-1 & 12-7as the Trailblazers improved to 2-11. 

Game 1- Highlights  21-2  (Record 1-6)

Bay Path got ahead early with solid pitching and hitting while taking a 6-2 lead after two innings.  The "Wildcats" had a season high 15 hits to go along with 21 runs in the win. 

In the 3rd inning, Bay Path broke the game open with a Kylie Silks (Littleton, MA) delivering a right center field gap triple scoring 2 runs.   Daisy Guzman (Maricopa, AZ) chipped in with single in the inning scoring 2 more, she finished the day with 3 hits and 5 RBI's.  

The "Wildcats" had 3 other players with multiple hits in the game, Madisyn Vera (East Hartford, Conn.) had 3 hits, 4 runs scored, Taylor Suffoletto (Warwick, RI) chipped in with 2 hits and 5 runs scored, Brooke Evanchak (Republic, PA) had 3 hits and 3 RBI's for the game. 

Daisy Guzman (W, 1-3) started and tossed a complete game for Bay Path while striking out four Falcons.

Game 2 Highlights  12-3  (Record 2-6)

Bay Path got ahead early with quality pitching and hitting while taking a 7-2 lead after three innings.  The "Wildcats" again got double digit hits with 11 in the win.

In the 1st inning, Bay Path got out to a 3-0 lead on a Madisyn Vera (East Hartford, Conn.) double driving in 2 runs.  They continued to add runs in every inning in the eventual 12-3 win over the Falcons including Neidelin Almonte (Springfield, Mass) who had a single, a run scored and an RBI.  

Emma Scheeren (W, 1-3) got the win in pitching the 2nd game of the doubleheader allowing 3 runs and sriking out five.

Bay Path University plays next on April 2 2022 at Central Maine CC with 12 pm and 2 pm starts.
