Blue Jays best Wildcats in Softball Doubleheader

Longmeadow, Mass.

Bay Path University hosted the home opener vs. University of St. Joseph's (CT) on Saturday and was swept in a doubleheader 24-6 & 12-2.

 

Game 1- Highlights  24-6  (Record 0-5)

Bay Path got behind early on the scoreboard in the 2nd inning by allowing the "Blue Jays to score 13 runs and taking a 15-1 lead. 

In the 3rd inning, Brooke Evanchak (Republic, PA) talled 3 RBI's with a double to right field to make the score 18-4 after three innings.

Emma Scheeren (Schaghticoke, NY) homered in the 4th, the first of her career.

Daisy Guzman Maricopa, AZ (L, 0-3) started and tossed a complete game for Bay Path.

 

Game 2 Highlights  12-2  (Record 0-6)

Game 2 got off to a better start for the "Wildcats" as they received some quality pitching from Emma Scheeren (Schaghticoke, NY) and trailed 5-2 at the end of 3 innings.  

The "Wildcats" would be held scoreless for the rest of the game eventually losing 12-2.  

Emma Scheeren (0-2) took the loss in pitching the 2nd game of the doubleheader while getting 2 hits including her 2nd homer of the day. Daisy Guzman (Maricopa, AZ) chipped in with 2 hits for Bay Path.

Bay Path University plays next on March 27, 2022 at Fisher College at 12 pm and 2 pm starts.
