Jackson Leads Wildcats with a Triple Double Topping Hampshire

HOLYOKE, Mass.- Senior guard Dallas Jackson (Springfield, Mass.) lead all players' two assists shy or a quadruple double finishing with 23 points, 14 rebounds, 10 steals and eight assists.  The Wildcats defeated Hampshire College 65-34 in their final game before the holiday break. This win puts them at 1-6, while Hampshire is now 3-5 on the year.

The Wildcats started off slow with a slight lead heading into the locker room at the half 23-19. Jackson along with fellow senior guard Brenna Roy (Stafford Springs, Conn.)  came out strong combining for eight points in under a minute. The third quarter proved to be the deal breaker with the Wildcats outscoring Hampshire by 23 points tallying 28-5 in those ten minutes of play.

Hampshire's guard Adelle Pitsas (Milford, N.H.) topped her team with 19 points and 15 rebounds, while chipping in eight steals.

First year head coach Taryn Roy managed to make use of her entire roster with every player but one scoring. Coming off the bench, junior guard Kaylee Herring (Worcester, Vt.) notched 11 points. Roy finished the contest with eight points, five steals and four assists. Senior guard Aaliyah Gordon (Springfield, Mass.) had seven points, eight boards and three assists.

Senior forward and first year player Krystal Fredette (Orange, Mass.) tallied six points. Fellow senior forward and first year player Shannon O'Neil (Ludlow, Mass.) netted her first points going 1-for-4 and added a rebound and steal to her final game played. O'Neil is set to graduate this December.

Center Lena Trieger  (Chicago, Ill.) had eight points and five rebounds for Hampshire before she left the game due to an ankle injury.

The Wildcats will be back in action in 2017 when they host New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponent Daniel Webster on January 7th for a 1:00 p.m. tip-off.
