Hawks Take Wildcats 61-41 in NECC Women’s Basketball Action

HOLYOKE, MASS.- Bay Path managed to play tough with second ranked New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponent  managing to keep the score to within seven until the final quarter.  Becker managed to pull away in the final quarter defeating Bay Path 61-41 scoring 18 points to Bay Path's nine points. The Wildcats outshot the Hawks in the second quarter 13-7 heading into the half only down five 25-20. Leading the way for the Wildcats was senior guard Brenna Roy (Stafford Springs, Conn.) tallying 17 points going 5-for-11 from the arc.

Sophomore forward Adrianna Dowdy (East Haven, Conn.) led all players with a double double putting up 24 points and pulling down 11 boards for the contest. Defensively , sophomore Ciara McKissick (Charlton, Mass.) patrolled the paint grabbing a game high 17 rebounds.  Freshman guard Cassidy Harrison (Foxborough, Mass.) added 16 points.

Senior guard Dallas Jackson (Springfield, Mass) finished with 14 points and 13 rebounds.  Jackson added five steals.

Becker played a defensive game grabbing 50 rebounds to Bay Path's 34 for the contest. The Hawks took advantage of 17 points off of second chance shots, while the Wildcats only managed two for the contest.

Becker is now 6-7 on the season and advances to 6-1 in the NECC, Bay Path falls to 1-11 and 0-7 for the 2016-2017 campaign. Bay Path travels to Lesley on Monday, January 16th for a 5:00 p.m. tip-off, while Becker has a week off facing Mitchell next Saturday, January 21st at 1:00 p.m.
