Bay Path defeated in 1st game of the season by New England College

Pilgrims shut out Wildcats 16-0 in lax play.

Henniker, N.H. – New England College women's lacrosse would explode for seven goals in the opening 10 minutes of play leading the Pilgrims to the eventual 16-0 victory over visiting Bay Path University Thursday afternoon.

With the win the Pilgrims even their overall record at 2-2, while the loss drops the Wildcats to 0-1 overall.

PILGRIM LEADERS

NEC was led by Kasondra Moniz who finished with three goals and two assists andAllison Granata who recorded two goals and dished out two assists.  Alyssa Tursinetted two goals, while Gabriella Bigos and Elizabeth Bois each chipped in a goal and has two assists.  Defender Caroline Mols recorded four ground balls, while Granata caused two turnovers and finished with seven draw controls. 

WILDCAT LEADERS

Brenna Roy and Elena Helming each scooped up three ground balls. 

Goalie Mila Lytle recorded five saves.

FINAL COMPARISONS

NEC outshot visiting Bay Path 27-4 on the evening and held the 17-9 advantage in draw controls.  The Pilgrims finished the night 12-for-12 on clears, while the Wildcats were 7-of-13.



New England College returns to action on Sunday, March 13 when they travel to take on Manhattanville College.
