Bay Path Splits DH with U, St. Joe's (CT)

Game 1: 

Bay Path University Wildcats lost to U. St. Joe's (CT) 5-2 on Fridayin softball action.

Bay Path University Wildcats opened the scoring in the second after Grace Ramsey hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run.

In the bottom of the second inning, U. St. Joe's (CT) went back into the lead after Avianna Ibrahim doubled, and Allison Conger singled, each scoring one run.

Brooke Evanchak singled, which helped Bay Path University Wildcats tie the game at two in the top of the fourth.

U. St. Joe's (CT) jumped back into the lead in the bottom of the fifth inning after Sydney Robison singled, Alexis Volinsky doubled, and Kaitlyn Ouellette singled, each scoring one run. 

Isabella Ferrara stepped in the circle first for Bay Path University Wildcats. The starting pitcher gave up 10 hits and five runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out none and walking one.

Ramsey went 1-for-2 at the plate as the left-handed hitter led the team with one run batted in. Taylor Suffoletto led Bay Path University Wildcats with two hits in three at bats.

 

Game 2:

Bay Path University Wildcats snatched the lead late in their 6-5 victory over U. St. Joe's (CT) on Friday. The game was tied at five in the top of the fifth when Madison Sunderland singled, scoring one run.

Bay Path University Wildcats jumped out to the lead in the top of the first inning after Caroline Austin tripled, scoring two runs, and Grace Ramsey singled, scoring one run.

Alexis Volinsky homered to center field on the sixth pitch of the at-bat, which helped U. St. Joe's (CT) tie the game at three in the bottom of the first.

A sacrifice fly by Alyssa Colangelo gave Bay Path University Wildcats the lead, 4-3, in the top of the second.

U. St. Joe's (CT) took the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning after  Avianna Ibrahim singled, and Izzy Milardo walked, each scoring one run.

Bay Path University Wildcats took the lead in the top of the fifth inning after Ramsey hit a sacrifice fly, and Sunderland singled, each scoring one run.

Sunderland stepped in the circle first for Bay Path University Wildcats. The righty allowed seven hits and five runs (four earned) over seven innings, striking out three and walking five. #17 opened the game for U. St. Joe's (CT). The starting pitcher surrendered eight hits and six runs over four and two-thirds innings, striking out three and walking three.

Ramsey and Austin were a force together in the lineup, as they each collected two hits for Bay Path University Wildcats while hitting back-to-back. Ramsey and Austin were tough to handle back-to-back in the lineup, as each drove in two runs for Bay Path University Wildcats. Madisyn Vera paced Bay Path University Wildcats with two walks. Overall, the team had patience at the plate, collecting four walks for the game. Bay Path University Wildcats turned one double play in the game. Bay Path University Wildcats didn't commit a single error in the field. Ramsey had the most chances in the field with nine.
