JOHNSON, Vt. (September 12, 2010) – Johnson State College women's soccer scored in the 8th minute of action and did not look back on Sunday as they won their second consecutive match by besting visiting Bay Path College 5-0 in non-conference play at Minaert Field.  Johnson led 2-0 at the half and saw freshman Jen Ferrari (Westfield, Mass.) score two goals in a 1:35 span early in the second stanza to put the match out of reach.  JSC moves to 2-2 overall and 0-0 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) while Bay Path falls to 0-4, 0-0 in the New England Collegiate Conference.

Johnson's Ally Fortier (Scituate, R.I.) put the Badgers on the board early with a goal to the upper right corner unassisted.  With 5:32 remaining in the first half the Badgers would score again when Kathryn Johnson (Hyde Park, Vt.) dropped a pass back to Aliza Pickering (Arlington, Vt.) with which she lofted high and over the reach of BPC keeper Janise Shabazz (New Castle, Del.) to make it 2-0 Johnson.

The Badgers come out of the break with great energy and broke through with their third goal when Ferrari drilled home a pass from Fortier just under the crossbar for 3-0 Johnson lead.  Ferrari would beat Shabazz to her right side just 1:35 later with a rocket from the center of the field to make the score 4-0 JSC.

Johnson's final score came in the 70th minute when Ally Bataille (Waterbury, Vt.) collected a rebound and quickly put it into the net.
