Wildcats Fall to Hawks 2-0

LEICESTER, Mass.-Becker College defeated Bay Path College 2-0 in New England Collegiate Conference women's soccer action at Alumni Field.

Becker got on the board with 28:14 remaining in the first half when Katryna Smith (Salem, Mass.) fed Katie Smith (Worcester, Mass.) on a breakaway goal.

Sophomore Caroline Plunkett (Rockaway, NY.) put the Hawks in front 2-0 at 5:04 of the second half when she scored on a missed played ball by Bay Path goalkeeper Janise Shabazz (New Castle, DE.).

Bay Path goal keeper junior Janise Shabazz (New Castle, Del.) made nine saves in a losing effort, as Bay Path fell to 1-6 overall and 0-1 in the NECC. Christina Boucher (Pawcatuck, RI.) and Alena Phongsa (Putnam, Conn.) combined for the shutout, making eight saves on eight shots. Becker improved to 3-4 overall and 1-0 in the NECC.
