ENFIELD, Conn.—The 2010 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) women’s tennis tournament ended today after 27 flights from an individual flighted tournament hosted by Bay Path College in the two-day format. Four NECC school’s competitors went home with awards and flight champions including Bay Path, Becker College, Lesley University and Newbury College.

LEICESTER, Mass.- Bay Path College improved to 7-1 as the Wildcats defeated Becker College 6-3 in New England Collegiate Conference women’s tennis action. Both teams are now sharing the top spot as they split earlier in the season with Wildcats falling 5-4 in their first meeting.

BROOKLINE, Mass.-The Newbury College women’s tennis team fell to Bay Path College, 7-2, Wednesday afternoon. The loss drops the Nighthawks to 3-6 on the season and 1-4 in the conference while the Wildcats improve to 6-1 and 4-1 in the NECC.

ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Bay Path College senior Carolina Ynguanzo (Springfield, Mass.) led the Wildcats to a 2-0 week. Ynguanzo went 2-0 in the #4 singles bracket while finishing 1-1 in doubles action. Bay Path defeated Mitchell 7-2 and Lesley 5-4.

LONGMEADOW, Mass.—The Wildcats after a grueling NECC battle yesterday were able to come back and shut down the Falcons of Albertus Magnus 9-0 in NCAA Division III women’s tennis action today. In #1 singles action senior Lauren Hangasky (Ludlow, Mass.) led the way defeating freshman Deanna Gaudio (New Haven Conn.) 6-2, 6-2. Bay Path took all five singles sets 6-0, 6-0 for the easy out.
