Defending Champion Lesley University Chosen to Repeat
ATTLEBORO, Mass. - The two-time defending champion Lesley University women's soccer team was selected as the 2014 New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) favorites to repeat as champions, announced Tuesday evening.
Receiving 89 points, including eight first place votes, the Lynx return seven starters including four All-NECC selections. The 2013 NECC Player of the Year, Hannah Landerholm returns for her senior season while goalkeeper junior Jackie Berard returns as the net-minder.
Regis College and Elms College finished tied for second receiving 76 points. The Pride, who return with a plethora of upperclassmen talent which include four 2013 All-Conference selections headlined by senior forward Adena Joseph.
Bay Path University finished fourth receiving 55 points while Southern Vermont College was not far behind in fifth with 49 points.
