Wildcats Fall to Mount Holyoke 3-0 in Women’s Soccer Action

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- The Wildcats of Bay Path University hosted local rival the Mount Holyoke Lyons in regional women's soccer action today at Ryan Field falling 3-0 in the match.   Despite the loss, Wildcats sophomore keeper Alma Rizvani (Prospect, Conn.) managed to keep the score low facing 29 shots for the day with 11 saves.

The Lyons' senior midfielder Kara Singleton (Parsonsfield, Maine) struck first off a well launched cross by sophomore defender Rebecca Levkowicz (Chestnut Hill, Mass.) in the 11th minute of play. This would prove to be the eventual goal winner.

Mount Holyoke would score again at 42:10 on the clock, senior midfielder Cassidy Robinson (Lebanon, N.H.) would find the back of the net off a pass inside from freshman forward Megan Irgens (Bullhead City, Ariz.).

 The Wildcats defense would manage to hold off scoring in the second half until the 82 minute when the Lyons would notch one more insurance goal. Singleton would score again after drawing Rizvani out of the net. Senior midfielder Hanna Yee (Amherst, Mass.) would earn the assist.

The Lyons are now 4-6 overall and Bay Path falls to 1-7. The Wildcats will be back in action on Saturday, October 4th hosting NECC opponent Regis at a 2:00 p.m. start.
