Wildcats Claw Eagles in 5-0 Victory

LONGMEADOW, Mass.-  Sophomore forward/keeper Briana Kujawski (Webster, Mass.) paced the Wildcats with two goals along with seeing her first time defending the net with three saves, and sharing a piece of the shut-out. Bay Path played down a player to stay even with the limited Daniel Webster bench.  Head Coach Christopher Streeter managed to give some key reservists some ample field time for this match.

Kujawski scored the first goal at 11:48 on the clock, this would prove to be the eventual game winner. She would again find the back of the net ten minutes later at 22:00 off a cross from forward midfielder Angela Ferrentino (Agawam, Mass.). Under a minute later, sophomore midfielder Krysten Lynch (Belchertown, Mass.) would notch the third goal unassisted.

Coach Streeter would then switch out most of his starters and change up goalkeepers to let the starting goalie sophomore Alma Rizvani (Prospect, Conn.) some field time.

Daniel Webster, also, changed up their goalkeepers for a period of time to help starting freshman keeper Shannon Grigas (Nashua, N.H.) a break for an injured hand. Freshman midfielder Amanda Dargee (Melbourne, Fla.) took over for the 13 minute break.

Junior forward/midfielder Megan Tancredi (Newington, Conn.) scored the fourth goal at 70:28 on the clock off a shot from about 40 yards back.  Rizvani would conclude the Wildcats scoring at 73:37 on the clock nailing the back of the net off a cross inside by freshman forward Elena Helming (Maplewood, N.J.).

Rizvani and Kujawski would share the shut out each with three saves, facing eight shots on the match. Grigas would suffer the loss with 14 saves.

Bay Path is now 3-11-1 overall and 2-4-1 in the NECC, while Daniel Webster falls to 1-12-0 on the season and 0-7 in conference play.
