Pride Claws Wildcats 4-0 in Rainy Day Bout

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- The Wildcats of Bay Path fell 4-0 to New England Collegiate Conference foe the Pride of Regis College today in a rainy day match up at Ryan Field.  Despite the 4-0 loss, Bay Path stepped up their offensive effort finishing with 13 shots to Regis' 22 on the day.

The Pride's freshman midfielder Michaela Bouvette (Mattapoisett, Mass.) notched her first collegiate goal in the seventh minute of play off deflection.

Wildcats sophomore keeper Alma Rizvani (Prospect, Conn.) suffered the loss facing 22 shots for the day giving up four goals while tallying 11 saves.

The Pride's goalie junior Rachel Gagnon (Ashford, Conn.) gained the shut-out facing 13 shots, while managing six saves.

Coming off the bench, sophomore midfielder Sofia Neri (Lincoln, Mass.) scored the second goal at 44:26 off a cross inside by fellow reservist freshman Jessica Perez (Lynn, Mass.).

The score remained 2-0 heading into the half. Bay Path launched an offensive front taking most of their shots on goal in the second half. Despite the effort, they could not find the back of the net.

Freshman midfielder Tais Salles (Fort Lauderdale, Mass.) managed to score the final two insurance goals for the Pride. Neri and freshman forward Olivia Hamill (Sudbury, Mass.) recorded the assists.

Sophomore forward Briana Kujawski (Webster, Mass.) led the wildcats with four shots for the day.

Regis is now 4-4-1 on the season and 1-1 in the NECC, Bay Path falls to 1-8-0 overall and 0-2 in conference play.  Regis will travel to Emerson on Tuesday, October 7th for a 6:00 p.m. start, while Bay Path travels to Mass. Maritime on Wednesday, October 8th for a 7:00 p.m. match.
