Lynx Defeat Wildcats 5-0 in Women’s Soccer Action

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- The Wildcats of Bay Path University fall 5-0 to New England Collegiate Conference women's soccer powerhouse Lesley University Lynx today at the Ryan Field. Five different Lynx score on the match.

The Lynx scored their first goal at 6:38 on the clock after a cross from the right side by senior midfielder Marysol Flores (Pico Rivera, Calif.) to senior forward Alexis Giusti (Meridian, Calif.) who netted the ball. Flores would again time a perfect cross at 15:27 finding junior Hayley Wirth (Escondido, Calif.) scoring the second goal for Lesley. Twenty seconds later, Guisti would jump right on the whistle and find senior forward Cameron Brown (Marshfield, Mass.) to score the third goal.

Coming off the bench, junior midfielder Melinda Robinson (Plano, Texas) would net a fourth goal at 35:33. Junior midfielder Selena Quezada (West Covina, Calif.) had the assist.

Sophomore defender Julie Essick (Boerne, Texas) netted the fifth and final goal in the 57th minute of the second half, after taking the ball up the field on a solo run.

Sophomore goalkeeper Alma Rizvani (Prospect, Conn.) faced 37 shots, 19 on goal with 14 saves.  The Lynx' starter junior keeper Jackie Berard (Coventry, R.I.) and freshman Lilly Donovan (Newburyport, Mass.) split time in goal sharing the shut-out.

Lesley is now 11-3 overall and 3-0 in conference play. Bay Path falls to 2-10 overall and 1-2 in the NECC. Bay Path will travel to Becker on Saturday, October 18th for an 11:00 a.m. start, Lesley will travel to Regis, with Lesley being the host, on the 18th for a 1:30 p.m. match.
