Gunseth Had 15 Saves in 2-1 Double Overtime Loss for Wildcats

NASHUA, N.H.- Freshman Lyndze Priebe (Raymond, N.H.) poked home a loose ball from in close 2:48 into double overtime, delivering the Daniel Webster College women's soccer team a 2-1 victory over Bay Path College in the New England Collegiate Conference opener for both clubs at rainy Eagle Field Saturday.

Priebe knocked home the winner off a Theresa DiSantis (Hinsdale, Mass.) setup after DiSantis originated the winning play with a short corner kick, as the Eagles (2-1) topped the Wildcats for the second straight season in extra time.

Bay Path (0-3, 0-1 NECC) had jumped ahead 18:09 into the contest as freshman forward Samantha Bechta (Holyoke, Mass.) pounced on a loose rebound in front of the Eagle net.

Rachel Schelhorn (Lebanon, Conn.) later tied it redirecting a Sarah Blanchard (Calgary, Alb.) pass into the left corner in the 29th.

Reigning NECC Goalkeeper of the Year  senoir Samantha Gunseth (Swanzey, N.H.) sparkled with 15 saves allowing the Wildcats, who were outshot 27-6, to keep the contest close.

Amy Waller (Berlin, Mass.) finished with three stops for the Eagles.

Daniel Webster returns to action Thursday visiting Anna Maria College in a nonleague contest at 3:30 p.m. Bay Path hosts Anna Maria Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
