Toler Named NECC Women's Soccer Player of the Week

ATTLEBORO, Mass.-Sophomore Melissa Toler (Paso Robles, Calif.) led the Wildcats to an impressive 2-0 week after a rough start for Bay Path including a 4-0 shut-out against Anna Maria and a 4-2 NECC victory over Newbury. Toler, currently, tops the Wildcats for scoring this season and tallied three goals this week. Against the Nighthawks, she notched two goals including the eventual game winner for Bay Path. Her final insurance goal for the 4-2 victory would include a game finishing collision between Toler and the Newbury keeper.

ANNANDALE-ON-HUDSON, N.Y. – The 2011 Bay Path College soccer season ended in the snow at Bard College on Saturday with an 11-0 loss. The Wildcats, freshman Marina Rhodes (Providence, R.I.) made seven saves, and freshman Jenn Finn(Malden, Mass.) made two. The Wildcats finish their campaign 3-14. .

LONGMEADOW, Mass.—The Nighthawks of Newbury College defeated host Bay Path College 10-2 today in a rescheduled match which had the Nighthawks as the home team to the Wildcats. Newbury, who was unable to play their home contest at their regular season field, travelled to Bay Path to play their New England Collegiate Conference match prior to the upcoming storm heading to New England. A pair of Nighthawks soared during the contest each garnering hat tricks for the day with sophomore forward Briana Tomaselli (Warwick, R.I.) tallying eight points and freshman midfielder Kelsey Landry (Milford, N.H.) notching five points in the contest.

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- The Wildcats of Bay Path fell 4-0 to local conference rival Elms College 4-0 today at Ryan Field on Senior Day in NCAA DIII women’s soccer action. Two senior members of the Wildcats were honored today for playing their final home contest. Senior midfielder Dajara Wright (Chicopee, Mass.) and senior defender Bridgette Flores (Somerville, Mass.) played all 90 minutes today for the Wildcats.

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- In the New England Collegiate Conference women’s soccer battle of the Wildcats, Bay Path prevailed defeating the Wheelock Wildcats 9-1 today at Ryan Field. Three Maroon Wildcats each scored a pair of goals with freshman forward Nicole Crossman (Winsted, Conn.) and sophomore midfielder Keelin Dougherty (Northfield, N.H.) both adding two assists as well as two goal finishing with six point a piece for the afternoon. Freshman Alexis Cookson (Mt. Vernon, N.Y.) was the other Wildcat to tally two goals.

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- Despite a valiant effort by Bay Path, the Wildcats were unable to comeback in the second half from a one goal defeciet fallin 2-1 to the Mountaineers of Southern Vermont today at Ryan Field in New England Collegiate Conference women’s soccer action. Sophomore midfielder Keelin Dougherty (Northfield , N.H.) scored the lone goal for the Wildcats. Dougherty now leads Bay Path with five goals on the season.

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- The Wildcats tried to wage a late game rally to come from behind from a two goal deficit only to fall short in the final minutes allowing Hampshire College to take the victory 3-2 in women’s soccer action today at Ryan Field. Sophomore midfielder Keelin Dougherty (Northfield, N.H.) led the charge for the Wildcats tallying three points with a goal and an assist for the match.

NASHUA, N.H. – The Wildcats of Bay Path earn their first win of the season with a 2-1 victory over the Eagles of Daniel Webster College in both teams’ 2011 New England Collegiate Conference opener Saturday at Eagle Field. First year head coach Nick Chapman pulled off a big conference win over the Eagles after a pre-season poll that had Daniel Webster finishing two spots higher than the Wildcats.
