Jessica Hunt and Brittney Alexander Named NECC Player and Rookie of the Week

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL

PLAYER OF THE WEEK - Bay Path College senior forward Jessica Hunt (Madison, Conn.) authored game high boards and a double double in a 73-62 victory over Pine Manor in their season opener.  She tallied 19 points and 16 rebounds along with five steals, two assists and one block. Hunt shot 38% from the field (5-for-13) and 75% (9-for-12) from the line.

ROOKIE OF THE WEEK - Fellow Wildcat, Bay Path College freshman guard Brittney Alexander (Enfield, Conn.) averaged 21.0 points and 8.0 rebounds per game and led the Wildcats to a win in the season opener. For her first 36 minutes of collegiate play, she topped all scorers, while running the offense and chipping in four assists and one steal. Alexander shot 46% from the floor (6-for-13), 67% (2-for-3) from the three-point line and a 70% from the free-throw line (7-for-10).
