Bay Path Falls to Lesley University 59-32 in Women's NECC Basketball Action

HOLYOKE, Mass. -On Saturday afternoon, The Lynx of Lesley University Women's Basketball Team cruised to a 59-32 win over Bay Path College in NECC conference action.   It was the opening of conference play for both teams.  At the end of the first half Lesley lead 37-14. 

Bay Path was lead by senior forward Jessica Hunt (Madison, Conn) and her game high 13 points and 9 rebounds. Freshman guard Brittney Alexander (Enfield, Conn.) chipped in 8 points.

The Lady Lynx stormed out of the gate in the second half on a 14-2 run and never looked back.  They were lead by junior center Brianne Caira (Pelham, NH.) and her team high 14 points and game high 15 rebounds.  Lesley had two other players in double figures including senior, Hailee Lowe (Hamilton, Mass.) wth 12 points and junior Kaitlyn Wechsler (Merrick, NY.) who had 13 points on the night. 

Lesley improves to 1-7, 1-0 NECC while Bay Path College drops to 3-6, 0-1 NECC.  Both teams now finish play for the 2009 year and look to pick back up the action in January 2010.
