Wildcats Shut Down Hampshire

HOLYOKE, Mass.-  Bay Path shuts down Hampshire 52-28  today at the Bartley Center in today's women's basketball action. Sophomore guard Katherine Chabot (Brookfield, Mass.) led the way for the Wildcats with career high 22 points while chipping in eight rebounds, six steals and three assists.

Bay Path took advantage of the 31 turnovers caused nabbing 25 of their points from steals. Chabot was quick on the fast break scoring three baskets. Chabot also utilized the arc tonight making four treys.

Junior guard Justin Hook (Berwick, Penn.) also scored in the double figures finishing with 16 points and seven boards. Junior forward Kayla Skiffington (East Longmeadow, Mass.) also had quick hands notching six steals as well today. Skiffington tallied eight points. Coming off the bench, freshman Anna Meyer (Millbrook, N.Y.) and junior Mercedes Griffith (Malden, Mass.)  rounded out the Wildcats scoring. Griffith had four points while Meyer had two points and chipped in six rebounds.

Hampshire's top performers were freshman forward Monica Soto (Boston, Mass.)  and sophomore guard Emily Waters (Lawrenceville, N.J.) each with eight points. Defensively they were led by sophomore center Hazel Wood (Thetford, Vt.) pulling down 12 rebounds. Wood had six points.

Bay Path is now 4-3 overall, while Hampshire falls to 1-6. The Wildcats will be back in action after the new year when they host NECC rival Wheelock on Tuesday, January 8th at an 8:00 p.m. tip-off.
