The Eagles Soar Past the Wildcats during Senior Night

Senior guard Brittney Alexander honored for her four year career
HOLYOKE, Mass. – Despite the 60-46 loss to New England Collegiate (NECC) opponent Daniel Webster College with junior forward Kayla Skiffington (East Longmeadow, Mass.) led the Wildcats with 16 points and the game high 13 rebounds. Sophomore guard Toni Alexander (Enfield, Conn.) wasn't far behind notching the only other double double with 15 points and 11 boards for the contest.
The Eagles were sparked by some key three-point shooting notching 7-23 for the game. Freshman guard Ashley Giampetruzzi (Manchester, N.H.) topped all players with 17 points hitting two shots from downtown. Giampetruzzi also added five rebounds, three assists, two steals and two blocks.
Senior forward Vanessa Bosques (Windham, Conn.) and junior guard Jennifer Fredericks (Beacon Falls, Conn.) each contributed 14 points. Bosques led her team with seven rebounds she also added eight steals. Both players combined for four more buckets behind the arc.
Wildcats sophomore guard Katherine Chabot (Brookfield, Mass.) also finished with double digits with 13 points and had two blocks.
Senior guard Brittney Alexander (Enfield, Conn.) provided some much defense for the game finishing with nine rebounds. Brittney Alexander was honored during half-time festivities for her stellar four year career as a Wildcat. She is currently at 83 games played with 58 starting nods while knocking back 77 treys for her four seasons. The older Alexander has tallied 739 points, 447 rebounds, 210 assists, 225 steals and 60 blocks. She has helped the Wildcats turn the corner to a winning program and has averaged 8.9 points per game and 5.4 rebounds per game for her collegiate campaign.
Bay Path is currently 10-12 and 7-9 in conference play will earn its second straight bid into the 2013 NECC tourney. Daniel Webster improves to 13-10 and 13-3 in league play. The Eagles will host Elms tomorrow at a 6:00 p.m. start, while the Wildcats head North to face Southern Vermont tomorrow for a 7:00 p.m. tip off. This weekend will conclude conference play.
