Bay Path Defeats Mount Ida 8-1
NEWTON, Mass.-The Mount Ida College women's tennis team surrendered an 8-1 loss to visiting New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) opponent Bay Path College on Sunday afternoon in Newton, Massachusetts. The Mustangs fall to an overall record of (1-6) falling for the 4th consecutive match, while Bay Path advances to 7-2.
Bay Path takes all three doubles matches with junior Symone Watson (Hamden, Conn.) and her partner sophomore Stephanie Morin (Springfield, Mass.) winning the No.1 flight 8-6.
Junior Teanna Montoya (Edgartown, Mass.) and Abigail Janneke (Waterbury Conn.) won the No.2 doubles 8-1, while the freshman duo Brittany Walsh (North Smithfield, R.I.) and Taylor Wood (Castleton, N.Y) again won 8-0 shutting down their opponents.
Bay Path won five of the six singles matches with Morin unfortunately losing in a super set tie-breaker 7-5, 12-10.
