Bay Path Shuts Down Lesley 9-0

LONGMEADOW, Mass.- New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) match-up between the host Bay Path Wildcats and the Lynx of Lesley finished with a 9-0 sweep of Lesley. The Wildcats advance to 11-4 overall and 6-3 in conference play, while Lesley remains 0-11 and 0-9 in league play. 

Bay Path took all three doubles matches with junior Symone Watson (Hamden, Conn.) and her partner sophomore Stephanie Morin (Springfield, Mass.) winning the No.1 flight 8-1over the sophomore Lynx Molly Phelps (Durham, N.H.) and Emma True (Lee, N.H.).

Junior Teanna Montoya (Edgartown, Mass.)  and Abigail Janneke (Waterbury Conn.) won the No.2 doubles 8-0, with the No.3 doubles team taking the forfeit win by default.

Bay Path proceeded to win fall five singles as well and taking the No.6 singles by default. The winning point came with the No.3 singles finishing second in the singles action taking the fifth point. Freshman Brittany Walsh (North Smithfield, R.I) won 6-0, 6-1 over senior  Aleena Naqvi (Islamabad, Pakistan) with the win Walsh is now 15-0 overall and 9-0 in conference play.

Bay Path will finish off hosting Newbury in the final regular season match on Saturday, October 13th at 2:00 p.m. while Lesley hosts Becker on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
